The Campania Region's Production Activities Department presents the birth of the Campania Goldsmith District in Vicenza

The presentation of the Campania Goldsmith District to the international goldsmith community has just ended at Vicenza Oro, with a series of activities promoted by the Campania Region's Production Activities Department.
On the occasion of the most representative European exhibition for Italian jewellery, attended by over 50 jewellery companies from Campania, the Campania Region set up an important institutional space for the District, which hosted an exhibition of jewellery, both antique and contemporary, representative of the high craftsmanship of jewellery from the Region's various production centres. On Sunday morning, a conference was held in the presence of all the protagonists of the European jewellery sector, followed by a networking event.
Attending the D.Or. Launch Conference, Councillor Antonio Marchiello highlighted the innovative and strategic function of the District, created in recent months with the involvement of the entire regional goldsmith industry. ‘It is an example of cooperation based on the value of enterprise,’ said the councillor during his speech, ’and on the fundamental awareness, specific to each entrepreneur, of what the objectives and needs of their company are. The Region intended to dedicate commitment and investment to the District project, with the certainty of dealing with a system of authoritative enterprises - by virtue of the aggregating entities Il Tarì. Oromare, Borgo orefici, Torre del greco and the retail world, also in terms of Training, which will be the crucial theme of the Academy project'.
The President of D.Or Campania Vincenzo Giannotti: ‘Making the system was the first step, in a dimension of openness that envisages including in the District, through specific memoranda of understanding, broad representations from the world of associations and academia. We have already embarked on an important collaboration with the confindustrial and chamber of commerce system, with which we are aiming at targeted objectives for internationalisation.
Now is the time to concretise a feasibility study and pilot actions planned by the District. Among these, the establishment of a Study Centre, with the support of national credit institutions, with the aim of developing a monitoring system of sector data that will definitively integrate the annual reports of the goldsmith world also with production and distribution data from Campania and support companies in their strategic choices.

The next appointment of the Goldsmiths' District of Campania will be next month, with a conference at Tarì on the occasion of the jewellery fair, scheduled from 4 to 6 October.
